explora Named ‘World’s Leading Expedition Company 2020’
explora has been recognized with not one, but six World Travel Awards for the year just past. The adventure travel company renowned for in-depth explorations and conservation of remote destinations throughout South America with five hotels and two explora Travesías (nomadic journeys) has been named World’s Leading Expedition Company 2020 – and that’s just to start. World Travel Awards also honored explora and its hotels as the best of 2020 in the continent, individual countries, and the world beyond, including:

Taken together, World Travel Awards has now recognized the excellence of explora with 21 individual awards since 2012, including as 9 years consecutive as South American’s Leading Expedition Company.
According to Gonzalo Undurraga, explora’s CEO: “Being recognized as the world’s leading expedition company fills us with energy, particularly during these challenging times. Undurraga added that explora’s mission is to provide travelers with the opportunity to delve deep into the culture and wildlife of the most remote and unique destinations in South America. “With explora’s knowledge and expertise in explorations, travelers can discover our destinations safely.”
Established in 1993, explora proposes a way of traveling based on the deep exploration of remote destinations whereby every hotel has been designed as a headquarters from where to explore the surroundings, combined with guided explorations and profound experiences. Traveling with explora always includes accommodations, transfers, meals, and beverages, and the option to choose and join daily guided explorations with bi-lingual and explora-trained guides. Currently, explora offers travel in seven remote destinations in South America; Torres del Paine, El Chalten, Easter Island, and Atacama in Chile; the Sacred Valley in Perú; Salta and El Chaltén in Argentina; and Uyuni in Bolivia. explora El Chalten will open in February 2021. In 2020 explora was honored as the world’s leading expedition company from the World Travel Awards for the second year in a row.
