Luxury tour operator shares expertise about the best
destinations and seasons for travel around
the world through 2025

Jacada Travel has tapped the designers that plan its luxury travel itineraries to create a new seasonal guide to the best places to visit around the globe in 2025. Jacada focuses on the where and the when, offering inspiration and invaluable insights to aid travelers throughout the year, including the best destinations and ways to experience them through peak, shoulder, and low seasons.

Along with essential climate information, Jacada’s seasonal guide highlights countries for travelers to uncover new experiences while leaving a positive impact and connecting to cultures in enriching and positive ways.  Special attention has been paid to conservation projects, environmental initiatives, and sustainability efforts that aren’t just words on paper but tangible commitments transforming what it means to travel responsibly – as well as the best luxury travel the world has to offer.

January, February, and March

Kenya – January and February

January is a month of new ideas and renewed energy, and Jacada believes it’s one of the best months for travel. Kenya, one of Africa’s most incredible safari destinations, is traditionally visited during the cool dry winter season that runs from July to September. In 2025, Jacada recommends exploring the quieter months of January and February, also known for favorable weather and warm temperatures sated by short afternoon showers. Following this theme, Jacada suggests exploring the lesser-known regions of LewaSamburuSolio Private Reserve, and Amboseli at this time, too, for exclusive safaris away from the crowds.

When it comes to the best hotels and experiences, Jacada has some favorites to share for 2025. In LaikipiaGovernors’ Mugie promises a fantastic family getaway with activities for all tastes – from following the K9 anti-poaching unit to canoe trips. Sarara Camp facilitates visits to the exemplary Reteti Elephant Sanctuary where guests can learn about successful elephant release strategies. And, the new Angama Amboseli and upcoming Suyian Lodge are both must-visits.

India – December to March

The best time to visit India if you want to see big cats is between December and March, the winter season, and that’s exactly the experience Jacada is planning to share in 2025. Temperatures are cooler, and there’s less rain, meaning conditions are dry, which is best for visibility and makes it easier to access more remote corners of wild habitats. To see Bengal tigers and rhinos, Jacada guests will be setting out on adventures in Assam, including a private cruise through Kaziranga National Park. Suján Jawai (great for leopard spotting) and Sher Bagh (the place to find tigers) are both in Jacada’s Positive Impact Collection and come highly recommended for 2025 stays.

The team has also been researching the best properties and routes in southern India for 2025, calling out Brunton Boatyard and Vismaya in Kerala as beautiful bases to discover the region. Southern India is a year-round destination, although the cool and dry weather from December to February are Jacada’s favorite months for comfortable sightseeing, cruising, and activity.

April, May, and June

Panama – May to November

In most of Latin America, January to April is typically the dry season, with occasional rains, and is widely considered a good time to travel. However, in 2025, for a more sustainable and peaceful experience, Jacada suggests visiting Panama (and pairing it with Costa Rica) during the green season from May to November. While afternoon showers are common, they rarely disrupt excursions, offering a chance to enjoy top properties and stunning locations with fewer crowds. And, they’ve tested this out, destination expert Lizzie is ready to chat about her green season research trip, with plenty of tips and advice to share.

Jacada’s experts, Delfina and Berni, have also been exploring Panama, wandering the enchanting, winding streets of Panama City, and learning all about the famed canal. They fell in love with the secluded Islas Secas, a private paradise accessible only by speedboat and felt that one of the highlights was their dedicated guide, afforded to all guests, ensuring a tailored experience. In Costa Rica, they ventured deep into lush green jungles, staying in conscious lodges committed to renewable energy, reforestation, organic farming and community upliftment, and where the wildlife is truly extraordinary. All while enjoying the peace and tranquillity that the green season brings.

Morocco – March to June and September to November

Morocco’s spring (late March to early June) and autumn (September to early November) are the best months to explore Jacada’s top picks for new hotels and favorite excursions in 2025. These seasons offer warm and comfortable temperatures, ranging from 23°C (73°F) to 32°C (90°F), with minimal rainfall – great for sightseeing and activities away from the intense heat that summer (July and August) brings.

In 2025, travelers can head into the High Atlas mountains to stay at the reopened Kasbah Tamadot and then return to sea level to recline in the luxury of the Four Seasons Hotel Rabat, due to open in late 2024. In terms of experiences, Jacada will be following the theme of Morocco’s Go Siyaha initiative, launched in 2024. The initiative supports small businesses, so expect visits and hands-on experiences in pottery and calligraphy studios, jewelry-making workshops, and cooking classes in traditional kitchens of the homes of residents. For a unique adventure, consider a thrilling ride through Morocco’s narrow streets in a vintage sidecar, a wonderful way to see the city, popular with families and couples alike.

Georgia – April to October

Jacada’s portfolio expanded in 2024, with Georgia joining the long list of incredible countries travelers can explore in Jacada’s distinctive style. In 2025, travelers can set off on a cultural immersion through cities and remote, naturally stunning landscapes. Jacada loves the spring (April to June) for exploring Tbilisi’s eclectic architecture and the blooming landscapes of the Kazbegi National Park. Autumn (September to October) is perfect for hiking in Georgia’s verdant valleys, and the summer (July and August), though hot, is the peak season for beach stops and higher-altitude mountain adventures.

For wine enthusiasts, September and October are the prime months to explore Georgia’s renowned wine culture. During the harvest season, the Kakheti Wine Region comes alive with grape-picking and wine-making traditions. Travelers can stay at top-notch hotels like the Tsinandali Estate and participate in wine tours there. Jacada will also show guests qvevri-making demonstrations, where artisans share the ancient craft of producing Georgia’s famous amber wines using UNESCO-recognized methods.

Romania – May to September

This summer, from May to September, Jacada’s guests can explore their newest European destination, Romania. During these summer months, the warm temperatures and abundant sunshine create ideal conditions for exploration. The shoulder months of May, June, and September will form a particular focus as the weather is pleasant, without the intense summer heat of July and August, which can exceed 30°C (86°F).

June and August are not only great months to visit for balmy weather but also the chance to experience the excitement and creativity of the renowned Transylvania International Film Festival (June) and world-class music in the mountains at the Smida Jazz Festival (August). As well as culture and stunning landscapes, Jacada will also be helping guests get under the skin of Romania’s rich culinary diversity, crafting bespoke tours to explore the country’s best vineyards, charming herb gardens and hidden cafés in Bucharest and beyond. When it comes to hotels, Jacada has a host of diverse properties on their list, like MATCA, a serene retreat and restored farmhouse full of authentic charm, surrounded by tranquil beauty and stunning during these summer months.

Italy – May to June and September to October

There is always a good time to visit Italy, and as Jacada explains, there’s always something new to discover. The spring (April to May) and autumn (September to October) bring pleasant temperatures, ranging from 20°C to 25°C (68°F to 77°F), making it ideal for exploring cities like Rome without the crowds. The summer (June to August) sees temperatures often soaring above 30°C (86°F), and it gets busy at the famous landmarks. For those visiting during the warmer months, Jacada suggests exploring northern regions like Piedmont and the Dolomites, where cooler climates and quieter, less-traveled destinations await.

In 2025 Jacada recommends Sardinia in June, a Mediterranean haven known for its luxurious resorts and pristine beaches, as well as Puglia, a perfect blend of outdoor adventure and foodie experiences, which is great to visit in June, spring and autumn. On the accommodation front, the Six Senses Rome and Borgo Pignano in Tuscany both stand out with commitment to sustainability, featuring renewable energy and social impact projects throughout the city in Rome and solar power and farm-to-table dining in Tuscany. Both feature in Jacada’s Positive Impact Collection.

Portugal – May to June and September to October

In 2025, Jacada will bring a new focus to their much-loved Portugal. Spring (March to June) is ideal for visiting Alentejo, where warm temperatures and lush landscapes reveal forests, rolling hills, peaceful beaches and hilltop palaces, and quaint villages set against a backdrop of blooming wildflowers. For early autumn (September and October), Jacada pivots to the Douro Valley, where rows of grapevines turn red and orange, transforming the region’s terraced hills into a stunning tapestry of color during the harvest season.

For accommodations, Jacada recommends the recently opened Herdade da Malhadinha Nova, which is part of a biodiversity regeneration program, working to protect local ecosystems and endangered bird species. In the Douro Valley, the Six Senses Douro Valley remains a top choice for 2025, offering luxury alongside a commitment to preserving the surrounding woodlands. Both are wonderful to visit in September and October to coincide with the wine harvest, although there really is no bad time to enjoy these incredible places.

July, August and September

Brazil – July to October

In 2025, Jacada invites you to explore the natural havens, rural retreats, and wildlife sanctuaries of Brazil. The Pantanal wetlands, a haven for diverse species, can be explored from Caiman, a luxury Lodge and private villa. The best time to visit the Pantanal is from July to September, when jaguar sightings (along with the rest of Brazil’s Big Five) are optimum. The dry conditions lead animals to the riverbanks and the foliage is sparse, making the animals easier to spot through the thinning undergrowth.

July to December is also a great time to visit the Amazon for hiking and nature trails, as the water levels are at their lowest and conditions underfoot are dry. The eco-friendly Cristalino Jungle Lodge offers an immersive, responsible adventure that Jacada highly recommends for 2025 adventures. Then, Ibitipoca, a stunning national park just three hours from Rio de Janeiro, where the beautifully restored Ibiti Project farmhouse, part of Jacada’s Positive Impact Collection, offers immersion in nature and community living.

Argentina – June to August

In 2025, Jacada proposes trips to Argentina‘s lesser-known locations, including the Iberá Wetlands. These wetlands are known for the successful reintroduction of jaguars and are best visited during the winter months of June to August, as the weather is cool and dry. These conditions are pleasant for travelers as it’s not too hot for long days on safari, but it also makes the wildlife easier to spot as the plants and trees are dry with fewer leaves and foliage. Travel designer Lily recently returned, completely in awe of the landscapes and wildlife she witnessed.

Jacada will also be venturing further south between June and August to the Lake District’s charming towns of Villa La Angostura and San Martín de los Andes for a serene and naturally stunning experience in winter (June to August). While travelers need to be prepared for cold weather and even snow, the reward is having the picturesque lakes and snowy alpine forests almost to yourself. Cozy up by roaring log fires with mugs of hot chocolate to enjoy breathtaking views of crystal-clear waters and snow-covered landscapes.

Namibia – July to October

The best time to visit Namibia is from July to October when cooler temperatures make exploring this desert country more comfortable. For travelers who have already been on safari and are seeking a new adventure in 2025, Namibia’s unmatched seclusion and exclusivity offer the perfect escape. Jacada’s experts,  Jody and Emily, recommend  Wilderness Serra Cafema in the remote Kunene region for breathtaking landscapes, intense solitude, and memorable experiences meeting with the Himba community.

Conservation and luxury entwine at Namibia’s Wilderness Desert Rhino Camp in Damaraland, which has been completely rebuilt, ready for 2025. Highlights include the camp’s elegant tented suites, rhino conservation efforts, and private stargazing decks. Namibia’s stargazing is second to none, and the best time to experience its jaw-dropping night skies is between May to October, when the skies are at their clearest, remembering to avoid a full moon.

Mongolia – June to August

This will be the first year that Jacada offers trips to Mongolia. The least populated country in the world welcomes very few visitors, the sense of calm and deep cultural authenticity is unmistakable. The best time to visit Mongolia is from mid-June to the end of August, although the Golden Eagle Festival in September is also worth seeing. Outside of this time, the weather conditions become inhospitable, and during the winter, which starts in November, temperatures can drop to -30°C (22°F), lasting until February.

Our travel designer, Jack, returned from Mongolia with stories of luminous sunrises in the Gobi Desert, wide open spaces galore, visits to the ancient ruins of Karakorum, and memorable interactions with local craftspeople, calligraphers, and paleontologists. In 2025, Jacada will draw on their expertise and knowledge to arrange tailor-made adventures to spot wild takhi horses, golden eagles, snow leopards, see amazing dinosaur fossils, and learn about nomadic ways of life.

Iceland – June to August

As travelers seek to escape the increasing summer heat in the Northern Hemisphere, Jacada will support the trend in 2025 by recommending Iceland from June to August as a cooler alternative to southern Europe. The summer temperatures in Iceland range from 10–15ºC (50–59ºF), and there are countless highlights to include in adventurous itineraries. Jacada’s travel designer Dan suggests searching for puffins along Iceland’s South Coast, reveling in the midnight sun, and heading out to tackle the Mount Esja trail, Snaefellsnes Peninsula glacier, and visits to Fjallabak Nature Reserve, a volcanic masterpiece, all best accessed during the summer months.

Jacada is keeping a close eye on what’s new in Iceland and is excited about the opening of  Höfði Lodge in March 2025 and the new addition of a geothermal spa at the already celebrated Kerlingarfjöll Highland Base. Whether staying in a luxury lodge or an exclusive private-use villa, Iceland’s summer season is the ideal time to immerse yourself in its distinctive blend of adventure and natural beauty.

Peru – June to August

The best time to visit the Peruvian Andes is during the dry, clear, and chilly winter months of June to August. In 2025, Jacada will head into the mountains and cloud forests to see the unmissable Machu Picchu and stay in the Inkaterra Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel, part of the world’s first climate-positive hotel brand. Then, slow travel beckons aboard the luxurious Belmond Andean Explorer for a memorable route that takes in CuscoArequipa, and Puno and savoring overnight stays at Cirqa in Arequipa or Titilaka on the shores of Lake Titicaca in Puno.

Peru has taken many steps towards minimizing over-tourism, and Jacada supports the initiative in 2025, helping guests to make a lighter footprint in lesser-visited Peruvian locations. The southern Peruvian Amazon’s Posada Amazonas is a great example and a new addition to the Positive Impact Collection, with the property investing 75% of its profits back into the local community. May to September are the best months to visit for hikes, nature walks and wildlife spotting. It’s the drier season, so water levels are low, trails are easily accessible, and birds and animals tend to congregate at the riverbanks.

Zambia – May to October

The best time to visit Zambia is during the dry, sunny winter months from May to October. For 2025, Jacada is excited to reveal new walking safari routes that slot perfectly into the dry season timeframe. It’s best to hike when visibility is at its best due to the sparse vegetation and when conditions underfoot aren’t too wet and muddy. A journey from Wilderness Toka Leya Camp to Chinzombo Lodge is ideal, with numerous opportunities to encounter the region’s stunning wildlife along the way.

Jacada credits Zambia’s authentic and unspoiled charm to the relative lack of crowds that visit, and they have a list of truly stunning camps from which to explore. Options like Wilderness Busanga Bush Camp and Wilderness Shumba Camp remain top choices. There are some exciting additions in 2025 too, including the Anantara Kafue River Tented Camp. And, to help travelers move around, Proflight Zambia will introduce new domestic routes, making it easier to explore South LuangwaLower Zambezi, and Mosi-oa-Tunya (Victoria Falls).

October, November, and December

Vietnam – December to February

In 2025, Jacada will celebrate Vietnam’s rich diversity of landscapes, culture, and luxury hotel offerings. While spring (March to April) is ideal for exploring the entire country, thanks to moderate temperatures and light rainfall, Jacada highlights December to February as the perfect time for cultural immersion in the Mekong Delta. With the luxurious Aqua Mekong as a floating base, guests can enjoy more onshore activities due to the lower water levels, such as exploring Sa Dec’s vibrant flower market or visiting the village of My An Hung to sample fresh fruits and listen to traditional folk songs.

For 2025, Jacada also recommends the newly opened Jiva Hoa Lu Retreat in Ninh Bình, designed in the style of a traditional village. Additionally, the secluded coastal retreat of Bãi San Hô in Quy Nhon offers a peaceful escape by the sea, blending luxury with Vietnam’s natural beauty.

New Zealand – December to March

The best time to explore New Zealand’s stunning natural landscapes is during the country’s summer months of December to February. With dry, warm days often exceeding 25°C (77°F) and over 15 hours of daylight, this season is ideal for hiking, biking, generally enjoying the great outdoors, and al fresco living in cities and towns.

In 2025, Jacada is excited to introduce new hotels and experiences that will be woven into their personalized itineraries. Huka Lodge, set in Taupō on the North Island, will reopen after an extensive refurbishment, marking a new chapter for this 100-year-old luxury property. Then, the newly-opened Flockhill Lodge on the South Island offers tranquillity in the breathtaking Southern Alps. Beyond accommodation, Jacada invites guests to explore the Pounamu Pathway, a cultural trail on the West Coast. There’s also an immersive digital storytelling experience for Pounamu Pathway, a captivating year-round (indoor) activity for all ages.

Scotland – March to May

Scotlands beauty shines year-round, though its weather can be unpredictable. Summer (June to August) can bring wind and rain, while winter (November to February) can surprise with bursts of sunshine despite the chill. For 2025, Jacada will plump for spring (March to May) visits when daytime temperatures range between 6°C and 15°C (43°F to 59°F), and there are new spring flowers, lush pastures, and adorable baby animals.

In 2025, Jacada will highlight lesser-known regions such as Ayrshire – an ideal base for exploring the Scottish Islands – Aberdeenshire, home to the UK’s highest concentration of castles, and Moray and Speyside, perfect for whisky and wildlife enthusiasts. Luxury stays feature heavily on 2025’s recommendation list, with Glenapp Castle, the Fife Arms, and Rothes Glen all top picks. Jacada will also focus on people in 2025 and has been crafting excursions that offer connections with local guides and storytellers and get travelers into important cultural spaces, such as behind-the-scenes tours at the renowned Johnstons of Elgin textile mill.
